Pomelo Care Raises $92 Million in Series C Funding

Pomelo Care, a leading provider of virtual multispecialty maternity care services, secured $92 million in Series C funding, bringing its valuation to $1.7 billion.

Stripes led the latest investment round, with participation from renowned venture capital firms, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Plus Capital, Atomico, BoxGroup, and SV Angel.

As of today, Pomelo Care serves 25 million people through partnerships with Medicaid and commercial health plans across the United States.

Pomelo Care was founded by CEO Marta Bralic Kerns, a former executive at Flatiron Health. With fresh funds, Pomelo Care plans to scale up its virtual model beyond its initial focus on maternal health into longitudinal women’s and family health.

Strategic Milestones

Including the latest round, Pomelo has raised more than $170 million in funding to date. Previously, in June 2024, Pomelo Care secured $46 million in Series B funding led by First Round Capital and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) to expand its virtual care model for women and newborns.

Three months after founding, in September 2024, Pomelo Care announced the acquisition of The Doula Network, one of the largest networks of credentialed, in-network doulas in the United States.
